The Manufacturing & Export Enhancement Cluster, based in Western Canada, was created to support industry on manufacturing innovation, collaboration, and digital solutions adoption. The cluster initially received funding from NGen and has since secured funding through both provincial and federal sources.
Over the next few months, the cluster, along with its partners, will be rolling out initiatives to foster collaboration and provide opportunities for manufacturers to identify and implement Smart Manufacturing solutions. The cluster is also developing initiatives to support development of critical skills essential for manufactures to implement and successfully utilize digital solutions.
One of the first initiatives the cluster is undertaking is surveying manufacturers from across Western Canada to better understand the needs and barriers associated with adoption of Smart Manufacturing solutions. The results will be formulated in a Gap Analysis Report to be released in the summer of 2022. Participants in the survey will be bench-marked against their industry peers to help provide insight into their technology maturity and strategy. To participate in the survey please follow this link.
